Slowing Down

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. I know many people are working more than they would like or aren’t able to spend time with family or friends this time of year. Wherever you are I hope you can slow down a bit and be thankful for the good things.

We’re in Germany for a few weeks spending some time with Dominik’s family. We’re mostly just relaxing and enjoying the area. It is warm here, so we’ve been spending time going on long walks, walking through Christmas markets, going swimming at a thermal pool, and going to several petting zoos with our niece. It is nice to slow down, but we’ve definitely tried to do something active every day to keep moving.

If you’ll look at the picture above you can see the small wooden manger scene (krippe) under the tree. We were recently at my favorite children’s store in Germany picking out our niece’s Christmas present when we saw this adorable kid-friendly manger scene. Dominik’s sister purchased a few pieces of it for our niece. I think it is awesome because it looks nice and she is also able to play with it. Here in Germany you can buy it piece by piece (or in small groups), but it appears it is a complete set in the U.S. If you’re interested, I’ve included a link to it here.

Be on the lookout Thursday for a post about setting goals and resolutions for the new year. Whether you usually set resolutions or not, I’ll give you some tips for setting reasonable goals and achieving them.
